Life.... in case you're wondering where I went.
This time it's a trip to the dentist... I know dentistry has come a long way but, whew.. I'm still hoping for the day when we can be like Star Trek, yeah, I'm a Trekkie as well as a Star War Fan, anyways just hold a device out to my body on a special bed and BAM, I am healed!
So, I go in for a cleaning and low and behold they see my broken tooth, no biggie, we will put a crown on it. When I was asked what color do I want, tempted to say gold? Well, it's crown, right?... okay enough of that nonsense. And there are two cavities again no biggie.
Appointments made and I go on to my happy life. When I go back in for fillings I get asked am I feeling any pain, well I didn't before you cleaned my teeth, but now there is that one tooth. The dentist raps with the end of one of her tools on my tooth. OUCH...WTH modern day and you use the bottom of your tool to see if it hurts. I get told that's not normal, my choice is to get the tooth removed or a root canal.
My first thought was to just take the tooth, I've heard too many issues with root canals and I said so to my dentist. "Oh no, she replies, things have come a long way." Save the tooth!
I'm into 3 weeks of annoying dull pain. And finally, I get to visit the guy who does root canals, 3D image taken, which was kinda cool. He says yeah we caught this on time, I can fix, then you go back to your dentist for a crown. OKAY! So simple.
What they fail to tell you is when they drill, they may hit the nerve, and you feel that. Okay more novocaine, your gonna feel a little prick, lets drill some more. I'm in the seat flinching shaking my head, okay more novocaine, four times! For him to only get to where he needs to be and say, wow I'm sorry but you have a hairline crack in tooth and it's not worth continuing.
I'm like holy crap, you put a hole in my tooth to only tell me no can do!!! I have a HOLE!!!! I never said that out loud, but I was very unhappy. He filled my tooth with a putty for fillings, filled the cavity roughly. It's not smooth or sealed. It feels like I have hard gum stuck to my tooth. So much for modern technology!
So, what now? I wait, I still have to get a crown for the broken tooth. And pull the holey tooth, on to an oral surgeon after my dentist reviews my case. I swear I felt like just telling the doc who did the root canal, just shoot me up with more novocaine and just pull that tooth out!
I should have gone with my first feeling of pulling the tooth.
Lesson learned. If it doesn't feel right or good don't do it! I always try to listen to my gut feelings but I trusted those who promote somethings that just don't jive with who you are.
So, with an achy jaw, I haven't felt like doing much, which is why I haven't been here in a while. I hope to get back into things regularly sooner than later.
Okay Enough!
Love to all!
